Education Affairs

Education Affairs is responsible for developing and implementing education policy within uu77. We translate national and international developments to the university and advise the Executive Board on strategic education issues and legislation. In addition, we are closely involved in policy issues closely related to educational practice, for example with regard to testing, digitisation and flexibility. This also includes topics related to educational organisation, such as the Academic calendar and the range of courses offered.

Finally, we monitor and strengthen the culture of educational quality at our university. We do this by supporting programmes and faculties with (re)accreditations, internal audits and improvement processes. The department coordinates the Institutional Quality Assurance Audit every six years. We also ensure that quality assurance has a permanent place in policy and decision-making.

The department participates in and supports important interfaculty consultations within the education column, such as the consultation of the vice deans of education, the Education Platform and the Education & Student Affairs Management Team. EA is also affiliated with various national networks and consultative bodies, such as the consultation of UNL education policy officers (COO), the National Consultation on Quality Assurance (LOK) and Npuls. In these and other ways, we ensure that uu77 remains well connected to developments in higher education.
